The Nanaimo Women’s Centre board, staff, and volunteers would like to thank the Snuneymuxw First Nation for allowing us to support, learn, and live on their traditional territory.

 

All services are FREE to all women in the community.
 

Support services at the Nanaimo Women's Centre include the following:
 

  • Client and tenancy support (call first to make an appointment or come during drop-in times)

  • Clothing, personal hygiene supplies and basic home starter kits

  • Computer with internet, access to computers, fax and printer 

  • Phone with long distance

  • Coffee, tea, and snacks

Open Tues - Fri 10 am to 3 pm 
Closed for lunch 12 to 12:45 pm
 

Drop In Programs Schedule

Tuesday

1- 2 pm - Tenancy support drop-in on a first-come, first-served basis.
This service is for people who are homeless or are at risk of becoming homeless.


10:30 a.m. - 2:30 p.m. Client support drop-in on a first-come, first-serve

Thursday

1- 2 pm - Tenancy support drop-in on a first-come, first-served basis.
This service is for people who are homeless or are at risk of becoming homeless.  

Counseling  - Phone or email dropin@nanaimowomen.com to be added to the waitlist.

 

Friday

10:30 a.m. - 2:30 p.m. - Client support drop-in on a first-come, first-served basis.

FOR SURVIVORS OF SEXUAL ASSAULT:

Researchers at Osgoode Hall Law School are putting out a call for individuals who have experienced sexual assault to participate the following survey for a study on complainants’ motivations for filing claims in instances of sexual assault. You do not have to have filed a civil lawsuit pertaining to your assault to participate. The survey can be accessed through the link below and will take approximately 10 minutes to complete. All participants will remain anonymous at all times. Thank you for your participation in this important research.

We are currently accepting clothing, kitchen supplies, health care items and furniture donations. For a list of our current needs, please click here.  With these donations, we provide health kits and basic home starter kits for women and families. Donations are accepted between 10 a.m. -12 noon or 1-2:45 p.m. from Tuesday-Friday. Thank you for your generosity!
