The Nanaimo Women's Centre is operated by the Nanaimo Women's Resources Society. The Centre is an agency committed to respectful and inclusive participation regardless of age, ethnicity, socio-economic background, religion and sexual orientation.

Diversity - The Nanaimo Women’s Centre is committed to diversity throughout the agency. We work continually to reduce barriers or obstacles and to create an environment that promotes inclusion, acceptance and participation without regard to ethnicity, ancestry, age, socio-economic background, religion, sexual orientation, family status, or disability. We offer criteria-free low-barrier/harm reduction services. Individual differences are respected and valued. To ensure our services are free of barriers, fair and equitable treatment applies to all aspects of employment including but not limited to, recruitment, selection, placement, training and development, promotion, compensation, benefits, termination and the work environment. Standard practices are compliant with applicable Canadian Human Rights legislation.
Access to Service - The Nanaimo Women’s Centre welcomes any person who identifies as female to access services, volunteer and work at the centre. This includes any self-indentified women who are transgendered or intersex. Transgendered and intersex women will have the same rights to a safe, respectful, non discriminatory, and non-judgmental environment as all other clients in the centre. The transgendered or intersex status of clients will be kept confidential unless given direct permission from the individual. The Nanaimo Women’s Centre is also a Safe Harbour location.
Safety - The Nanaimo Women’s Centre is a safe place for all those who use it. Any behavior that compromises the safety and well-being of those using the centre is unacceptable.
